We will get to know the Workshop more deeply; Workshops are one of the events that are routinely carried out by Bengok Craft in order to learn with students from various schools. Actually, anyone can participate in it, but it’s often the participants are students. Bengok Craft will provide fun activities full of new experiences. Participants will be invited to tour the lake to see the original habitat of water hyacinths. Then they will see the cultivation process and the transformation of the green water hyacinth stems into dry brown. These dried water hyacinth stems are what Bengok Craft utilizes to make crafts.
The participants will learn how to weave, make book covers, key chains, and many more using water hyacinth stems. This activity will certainly make the participants gain new experiences and knowledge. They are invited to directly see how a pest (water hyacinth) turns into something meaningful and valuable. Later, each participant’s work can be taken home as a souvenir from Bengok Craft. It is hoped that with the workshop, participants can have ideas about innovations to turn pests that are often considered useless, into something memorable. This innovation will certainly have a good impact on the entire community.
Recently on June 27, 2023, Bengok Craft held a workshop with PPA Kudus. The event opened with remarks and a deeper explanation of what Bengok Craft is. Then followed by a quiz, the participants who successfully answer the quiz correctly will get a prize of a unique bracelet made from water hyacinth stems. Fun fact, this bracelet is one of the best seller products from Bengok Craft.
After the quiz session, the training session continued. In this session, the students were happy to learning how to make stationery from water hyacinth stems. They dwelled on their respective works and created models as desired. Bengok Craft itself has a special team that will make the workshop event ‘alive’ and fun The event was closed with outbound in the form of clogs, rubber relays, hula hoops, and many more. the participants participated in the traditional game with great enthusiasm.
