The Fair entitled The 23rd Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT 2023), as one of the largest handicraft product exhibitions in Southeast Asia, is being held again for the 23rd time at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), on 1–5 March 2023.

The INACRAFT 2023 exhibition occupies the entire Convention Hall including the Lower Lobby and all other rooms to accommodate all supporting activities and exhibition facilities for participants and visitors (+ 25,000 m2).

After the successful implementation of the exhibition during the new normal period last year in which it was held twice in March and October, INACRAFT is back as before while still paying attention to CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environment) standards.

INACRAFT second phase is ready to sail through the dynamics and challenges of the world economy including the threat of recession. National creative industry players believe that Indonesia’s demographic bonus is a promising market opportunity supported by the political stability of the ASEAN region. This has motivated the organizers that the INACRAFT exhibition is indeed eagerly awaited by businessmen as a place to showcase works with production that drives the wheels of the people’s economy from the handicraft sector throughout the country. The holding of INACRAFT 2023 is also a barometer of the exhibition activities for creative artisans internationally.

The fair initiated by the Association of Indonesian Handicraft Exporters and Entrepreneurs (ASEPHI) in collaboration with Mediatama Event aims to be a forum for promoting local handicraft products to seize domestic market opportunities and open international market opportunities as export commodities to foreign countries.

This year, the role of the exhibition is to rebuild the spirit of Craft SMEs to rise towards national economic recovery as well as to become a window for the latest and quality Indonesian handicraft products.

With the fixed theme “From Smart Village to Global Market”, the 23rd INACRAFT will collaborate with the Provincial Government of South Sulawesi as an exhibition icon that will display high end and creative handicraft products while highlighting the rich traditions, arts and culture of South Sulawesi with the tagline “The Authentic South Sulawesi”.

The South Sulawesi Provincial Government filled the Icon Pavilion by holding up a miniature Pinisi Ship in the main area of the exhibition as well as representatives of the 3 main tribes at each INACRAFT gate, namely the Bugis, Makassar and Toraja.

South Sulawesi, bringing the spirit of Returning the Glory of Sulawesi Silk, will also present dance and music during exhibitions as well as famous culinary specialties and receive recognition for intangible cultural heritage (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage).

This year the INACRAFT Exhibition was attended by 1118 SMEs participating in 1200 booths consisting of 904 ASEPHI members, 214 Non-Members, and 61 fostered participants Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ministry of BUMN and Ministry of Law and Human Rights, 35 BUMN, 255 participants assisted by the Department/Dekranasda and attended by international visitors/special guests.
