Metro, Suara.com- The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (KemenKopUKM) has established a synergy with PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk in synergy to present the Growpreneur by BRI program at Smesco Indonesia to boost the entrepreneurship ratio in the country.

Growpreneur by BRI is a platform that connects MSMEs with creative industries and adaptive digital infrastructure. Also as an empowerment program for the BRI MSME community and Brilianpreneur participants.

The Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs (MenKopUKM) Teten Masduki at the Grand Launching Growpreneur by BRI event at the Smesco Building, Jakarta, Thursday (15/9), said that through this synergy it is expected to be able to boost the target entrepreneurial ratio to 3.95 percent in 2024, and 1 million new established entrepreneurs this year.

Teten appreciates that BRI has always been a partner of KemenKopUKM to be at the frontliner of upgrading Indonesian MSMEs, as well as creating a complete ecosystem that connects MSMEs with entrepreneurship.

“Through BRI’s support, I am personally optimistic and confident that we can achieve our entrepreneurial targets. Because the government cannot do it alone, there needs to be cooperation from all parties. And indeed this is an order from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to increase entrepreneurship,” he said.

Teten also noted that so far BRI’s involvement in the development of upgraded MSMEs has included five programs. Like the BRIncubator which targets SMEs to upgrade classes, novice entrepreneurs. BRI Venture that is right for established entrepreneurs, KUR financing for MSMEs, Brillianpreneur which targets MSMEs to go global, and finally through BRI Growpreneur.

“For example KUR, BRI gets the largest share in KUR distribution to MSMEs. Next year I ask that the ceiling be increased to Rp450 trillion. Even if necessary, 50 percent will come from banks, including BRI,” he said.

In addition, the Brillianpreneur program also supports MSMEs to enter the global market. The important thing to note, said Teten, is how the increase in MSME exports is still low. Given that MSMEs have very limited capacity, they need aggregators, especially in reducing logistics costs to make them cheaper.

Teten emphasized that one of the current focuses of KemenKopUKM is strengthening MSMEs with the potential to scale up, local champions who in their business processes also aggregate and empower MSMEs who partner with them.

This is in line with Presidential Regulation No. 2/2022 concerning National Entrepreneurship Development for 2021-2024 as a guide in cross-stakeholder collaboration to increase the entrepreneurial ratio and scaling up MSMEs. Previously, the Cooperative and Small and Medium Enterprises Ministry had also consolidated with SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, to synergize to align National Entrepreneurship Development according to the Presidential Decree.

“Our target is to produce 1 million new established entrepreneurs up to 3.95 percent in 2024, which is currently still at 3.14 percent. Thankfully, it can reach up to 4 percent, especially as we approach the golden year of Indonesia in 2045, we will become a developed country,” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director of BRI Catur Budi Harto expressed his readiness to support the KemenKopUKM program in increasing the entrepreneurship ratio and developing MSMEs to a higher level.

“Currently our MSME loan portfolio is 83 percent. It is targeted to reach 85 percent this year. From the MSME sector, at least it can create bigger new jobs,” said Catur.

From the BRIN survey, he detailed, the distribution of each BRI KUR was able to increase employment by 3 people. Currently BRI has 10.7 million existing KUR customers from the super micro to small business segments, which in total can absorb at least 32.1 million jobs.

Catur hopes that through Growpreneur, his party wants to target more export MSMEs. Where this year it will be held in two places, namely Jakarta and Bali. At present there are already 2,000 new UMKM curations to enter for export.

“Not only that, the presence of the Brilianpreneur Corner and Co-working Space at Smesco is also BRI’s effort to contribute to increasing export MSMEs and creating new established entrepreneurs, as well as fostering more MSMEs. Starting from coaching to financing is provided in one area, “he concluded.
