Innovation and technology is growing. The government and related stakeholders must of course prepare themselves to prepare resources in order to have optimal competitiveness. For this reason, the Development Planning, Research and Development Agency (BAPPEDA) of Central Java held the Central Java Innovation Hub (JIH) with the theme “Cultivating a Culture of Innovation in the Young Generation towards Creative, Innovative, and Productive Human Resources”.

The event was held on September 28, 2022, located on the VI B floor of BAPPEDA Central Java Province, which was attended by 50 High School / Vocational High School Students from Central Java, Winners of the 2021 Indonesian Entrepreneurship and Innovation Festival (FIKSI) Competition and 2022 Nominees and Companion Teachers.

The event was opened by the Head of Bappeda of Central Java Province, represented by the Head of Innovation and Technology, Mr. Agung Koenmarjono, SH, saying that BAPPEDA of Central Java Province built a creative space that brought together various innovative communities in one area that provided and facilitated innovation holders to collaborate in efforts to improve regional competitiveness.

On this occasion, the participants were given motivation and understanding in expressing creative ideas as well as being a solution to solving problems in the community by utilizing the potential that exists in everyday life.

This activity presented Mas Firman Setiaji as Inventor and Founder of Bengok Craft from Semarang Regency as Speaker and acting as Moderator, namely Mrs. Amelisari Budiprahara, S.IP, M.Sc. Bengok Craft is a youth creation that is not merely a solution to environmental problems in the Rawa Pening area, but also empowers the surrounding community. Mas Firman setyaji formed a community based business on community empowerment to process water hyacinth into handicrafts, with a product called Bengok Craft, involving all levels of society, from women to young people in Kesongo Village, Semarang Regency, Central Java.

In today’s era, we must be able to keep up with changes and always innovate in order to be competitive and independent. This is in accordance with the government’s commitment to encourage and facilitate more people to deepen and explore their respective potentials so that they are more creative and innovative, in order to build a strong and independent Central Java together.
