Mang Engking Ungaran Semarang, a restaurant with a traditional concept in Semarang Regency, held the Festival by Javanese and Balinese Souvenirs. This event has been held on September 27, 2022 from 9 am to 9 pm local time.
In accordance with the name of the event, this activity will hold many MSMEs from Java and Bali with their superior products in the fields of culinary, fashion, and handicrafts.
There are several culinary products displayed such as Pie Susu, Bakpia, Satay, Coffee, Jenang Kudus, and other traditional dishes. Meanwhile, from the fashion cluster there is batik and for handicrafts there is water hyacinth craft.
Bengok Craft is one of the SMEs from Semarang Regency which is one of the participants in this festival. Firman Setyaji, as the owner of Bengok Craft, said on (09/27) that this festival is packaged in an interesting way, namely while visitors enjoying the culinary arts at Gubug Mang Engking, they can also explore to try local products and creations.
“Although the implementation is only one day, we see that the visitors are very enthusiastic and our products are in great demand by the visitors,” said Firman.
He also added that his various creations were displayed in this event, ranging from sandals, bags, bracelets, key chains, and many more. In addition, Bengok Craft also uses an eco-green concept, namely its products that are environmentally friendly because they use water hyacinth as the main material.
The Java and Bali Souvenir Festival activities are certainly expected to be able to restore the economy of the surrounding community due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has occurred for 2 years. With the provision of this festival, more and more participants are interested in coming to Mang Engking while shopping for SME products.
