A thousand Kebaya event held by Griya Persada Hotel and Convention

Kebaya is an attire that is synonymous with Indonesian women. Therefore, preserving Indonesian culture can be realized by wearing a kebaya. Kebaya is a fashion of the Indonesian nation since ancient times. Even in 1940, it was designated as the Indonesian National attire.

Currently, Kebaya is getting the attention of the people and the Indonesian government as awareness grows about the richness of Indonesian culture. This is indicated by the emergence of various women’s communities with the aim of re-elevating the kebaya as a traditional Indonesian pride attire, which can be used in every daily activity.

In line with the use of kebaya as part of Indonesian heritage, Griya Persada Convention Hotel and Resort will arrange a big event to commemorate the 77th Indonesian independence day with an event entitled “1000 Kebayas Untukmu Indonesiaku” where participants will wear kebayas during the event. According to the title of the event, it is targeted that there are around 1000 participants attended this event. Several important guests are also scheduled to attend this commemoration, such as Hj. Siti Atikoh Supriyanti (Wife of the Governor of Central Java), Hj. Peni Yulianingsih (Wife of the Regent of Semarang Regency), Tourism Ambassador of Central Java Province, and Tourism Ambassador of Semarang Regency.

This event will present several activities, such as Humanitarian Donation activities, Cultural Carnival, Culinary Bazaar & Creative Economy Exhibition.

A humanitarian donation is a charity event that is aimed at collecting funds in order to give a contribution to people who are in need. By collaborating with the Semarang Regency Social Office (Dinsos), 100 % of ticket sales for this activity would be donated to orphanages and foundations in need.

Cultural carnival will be held by wearing Kebaya for Women & Surjan for Men as far as 500 meters from PJKA Parking Lot to Argasoka Garden Griya Persada Convention Hotel & Resort Bandungan.

Meanwhile, blood donors and free medical check-ups will be held in collaboration with PMI & Sari Medika Clinic, Semarang Regency. Not only humanitarian and cultural activities, this commemoration event also presents a culinary bazaar and creative economy exhibition. Presented by many MSMEs in the Semarang area, these activities are ready to provide visitors with special foods and crafts around.

Like Bengok Craft, this MSME from Tuntang, Semarang Regency also enlivened this independence anniversary event. The products displayed are in the form of water hyacinth handicrafts, which became an icon of Tuntang, considering its location is very close to Rawa Pening.

“Our creations that will be presented here are made locally and directly from the hands of craftsmen, it is hoped that with this independence day commemoration, we will love Indonesian products even more”, said Firman Setyaji, the owner of Bengok Craft met him on Wednesday (08/17).

This huge event will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2022, from 7 am at Argasoka Garden Griya Persada Convention Hotel & Resort on Jl. Count No. 77, Bandungan, Semarang Regency, Central Java (50614). Participants or visitors are expected to use the specified attire. For those of you who want to take part in this event, an entrance ticket of IDR 20,000 is charged as a humanitarian donation at once.
