SOLO, KOMPAS.com – Preparations for the second meeting of the Group of Twenty (G20) Trade Investment and Industry Working Group (TIIWG) Forum in Solo, Central Java, have begun.

Preparations began to be seen when the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) and the Ministry of Investment checked the venue, one of which was at Pendapa Gede Solo City Hall. The plan is that this international event held on July 4-7, 2022, by carrying out several big agendas.

“The first is a welcome dinner which held at the Solo Palace, then the TIIWG G20 sessions. The plan is to have two at the Alila Hotel, and later they are closed with a cultural carnival,” said Deputy for Investment Cooperation at the Investment Ministry or BKPM, Riyatno in accordance with check the venue, Wednesday (22/6/2022).

Riyanto continued, the gala dinner with the theme of the Archipelago and the planned cultural carnival, from the official residence of the Mayor of Solo, Loji Gandrung, Jalan Slamet Riyadi, arrived at the Solo City Hall.

“Kirab plans to use the golden train and carriage, which was attended by the Minister of Investment and the Mayor. As well as delegates from TIIWG G20 member countries,” he explained.

During the carnival, palace soldiers are escorted, and traditional dances accompanied it.

“After arriving here (City Hall) there was an MSME exhibition. The emphasis is more on collaboration between large investors and 20 MSMEs that were displayed,” he explained.

The Director General of International Trade Negotiations at the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) Djatmiko B. Witjaksono explained that this second meeting involved three ministries with different topics from the first meeting.

“The second meeting has three agendas, the first is about WTO reform, the second is about the response to trade with industry with investment, responding to the pandemic situation. And the last is related to the investment issue, how the system can also help economic recovery efforts,” he explained.

The state delegations that were confirmed to be present in Solo were the Netherlands, Singapore, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, Cambodia as Chair of ASEAN, and then there were countries from African representatives, as well as the Caribbean Islands as archipelagic representatives, then Switzerland, the big countries that did not enter. in the G20 group.

“So we hope that they will also attend. At the first meeting, there were also quite a number of those who attended offline. So we hope that all of them will be able to attend or if they can’t attend they will attend online,” he explained.
