Still young, the spirit of entrepreneurship is still on fire. Those are the words that can describe a group of students from UIN Salatiga Student Executive Board who are creatively making water hyacinth crafts. Taking place at Daringan Kesongo Culture on Saturday, July 2, 2022, the students held an entrepreneurship workshop with Bengok Craft.

Guided by Astaria Eka Santi and Firman Setyaji as the business owner, the students were taught theory to hands-on practice regarding making these natural-based crafts, from harvesting, drying, sorting, and flattening or twisting water hyacinth materials, to making creations. The creations made by students are in the form of making bracelets. In addition, other students are creative according to their creativity.

The workshop, which brought the title of Processing Bengok Craft as an opportunity for entrepreneurs, was held in order to increase the entrepreneurial spirit in students considering that entrepreneurship can be done anytime and does not know young/old. Moreover, there are currently many young entrepreneurs who have succeeded in building businesses. Firman Setyaji he met on Saturday (07/2), said that he really hopes that students who take part in this workshop can be inspired to continue to work and build a better nation, one of which is entrepreneurship.

“With entrepreneurship, we could improve from an economic, social and even environmental point of view like what Bengok Craft did. Because life is a flame to enlighten,” he added.
