The office of Cooperatives, MSME, and industry in North Lampung provided training on making water hyacinth crafts for residents around North Lampung. The training last for days and ended on June 8, 2022. Indeed, his party invited Bengok Craft, one of the largest water hyacinth handicraft businesses in Semarang Regency which has expanded its products to various regions in Indonesia and has also penetrated the export market in several countries.

By covering hundreds of kilometers, Bengok Craft provided two stages of training, the first is material/insight about water hyacinth and also the stages of making water hyacinth. The stages were explained in the form of harvesting water hyacinth, drying water hyacinth, sorting water hyacinth, and flattening water hyacinth before finally being created into crafts by the craftsmen. Then proceed with practice, where residents could practice directly about making water hyacinth crafts.

According to the Head of the North Lampung/Lampura Cooperative, MSME, and Industry Office, Dina Prawitarini on the sidelines of his activities on Wednesday (8/6/2022), said that the participants of this training came from the Kotabumi area and its surroundings.

This training was carried out because the North Lampung area, precisely at the Way Rarem dam in the Abung Pekurun sub-district, there are many water hyacinths that are not used optimally. In addition, the community has not been able to utilize this weed plant optimally. With this training, it is hoped that residents will be able to improve their skills and expertise to use these useless items into valuable items. In addition, from an environmental point of view, the dam will be cleaner due to the reduction in the weed plant, namely water hyacinth because it has been converted into handicrafts.
