Bank Indonesia (BI) continues to work together to support the Government in the success of the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (BBI) and Proud Traveling #DiIndonesiaAja (BWI). This commitment is realized through the implementation of the Indonesian Creative Works (KKI) 2021 series 1 themed “Synergy, Globalization, and Digitizing MSMEs and the Tourism Sector” which will be held on March 3, 2021, in Lombok and will also be broadcast virtually.

The Governor of BI, Perry Warjiyo, in his remarks at the Opening of the 2021 KKI series 1 today (3/3) conveyed 4 things that would be encouraged in the 2021 KKI series 1 as part of support for Gernas BBI and BWI. First, the theme of KKI 2021 series 1 with the hashtag #ExotismeLombok to encourage tourism and MSMEs from West Nusa Tenggara. Second, expanding the use of QR Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) throughout Indonesia by mobilizing 46 BI Representative Offices in the country, in particular increasing the use of QRIS Without Face-to-face (TTM). Third, uploading MSME products to the e-catalog digital platform. Through e-catalogs and easy payments using QRIS, it is easier for people to get access to MSME products. Fourth, synergy in the success of Gernas BBI and BWI.

On the same occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, appreciated BI’s steps to support the success of Gernas BBI and BWI through the implementation of QRIS with a target of 12 million merchants using QRIS in 2021. Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology also gave testimony regarding the advantages of MSMEs and Indonesian tourism. To encourage the progress of regional tourism, on the occasion of the event, BI also handed over assistance from the Dedication Program for the Country for the development of the green tourism village of Bilebante. The assistance was handed over directly by the Deputy Governor of BI, Doni P. Joewono.

Different from the implementation of KKI in the previous year, the alignment of KKI 2021 activities with Gernas BBI and BWI aims to provide added value and greater impact in supporting the progress of MSMEs. KKI 2021 focuses on strengthening the role of regions in promoting MSME products, expanding the scope of MSMEs that are facilitated (guided and non-guided), and expanding the reach of MSME product promotions overseas through education and webinars on global market potential for MSMEs, business matching; as well as facilitating the participation of SMEs in exhibitions/showcases.

KKI 2021 series 1 was attended by 421 MSMEs who participated in virtual/online product exhibitions consisting of 136 fabric/fashion craftsmen, 145 food and beverage entrepreneurs, 92 craft players, and 48 Coffee MSMEs. In addition, as many as 678 MSMEs also participated in physical exhibitions through 46 BI offices in the country. BI invites the public to attend various series of KKI activities virtually through the website www.karyakreatifindonesia.co.id. In the event that the public wants to see MSME products assisted by BI, BI provides a catalog and contact menu on the KKI website.
