Bank Indonesia, as the central bank of Indonesia, always participates in the development of SMEs throughout Indonesia so that they can enter the export market. One of the representatives of Bank Indonesia who supports the program is the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia, Central Java Province.
After last year’s success in exporting curated SME products to Singapore through the SME Gayeng program, this time, Bank Indonesia is preparing for SME products to penetrate further market shares, namely in the European region.
One of the steps he took was to hold a curation week with several Central Java SMEs. The activity held in Semarang on 7-18 March 2022 also invited Indonesia Diaspora SME-SMI Export Empowerment & Development (ID SEED) as curator. Curation was carried out to select potential Central Java MSMEs that could be developed for retail and export market expansion, including Food and Beverage, Craft/Furniture, Fashion/Accessories, and Agribusiness products.
Later, the selected SMEs can market their products to Europe, so it is expected to increase sales and product branding.
One of the participants in this curation week event is Bengok Craft, a business from Semarang district that processes water hyacinth into valuable crafts.

Previously, Bengok Craft was one of the selected SMEs from the Central Java provincial representative office of Bank Indonesia, which successfully exported its water hyacinth products to one of the south-east countries, Singapore.
